This Volvo has all aluminum wheels. The door at the back of the sleeper provides easy access to under bed storage. This storage goes from one side of the cab to the other allowing storage of long items. The little rectangular door higher on the sleeper is an air vent.
This Volvo has been converted from tandem rear axle to single rear axle. The puller bed was custom designed for this Volvo. It has a Trailer Saver Air Ride Hitch installed. This rig has never been used to pull an RV since it has been completed. The rig was completed and is now for sale due to health reasons and Dr's advice.
The suspension, sleeper, and drivers seat are all air ride. The suspension adjusts to the amount of weight placed on the hitch. There is a new Trailer Saver Air Ride Hitch installed. The air for the hitch is adjustable from inside of the cab with a gauge for setting it. The hitch allows you to hitch and unhitch easier by either dumping air or adding air to the hitch. It also allows the adjustment of the trailer for leveling it. The bed has been sprayed with LineX as well as the rear bumper.
The Volvo has a 10 Speed transmission. For hauling loads of less than 20,000 pounds the truck can easily start off in 4th gear.
This Volvo has a two speed Jake Brake, dual aluminum 100 gallon fuel tanks. It has three batteries.
This Volvo has been registered as a motorhome. No CDL is required. Full coverage insurance will cost between 650 and 900 per year for safe driver ratings . The toter has virgin tires on it with about 80% on the front and 75% on the rear.
On the lower left side of the dashboard is where the gauge and adjustment for the Trailer Saver hitch is located
Both the driver and passenger seats are new Bostrom Talladega Ultra Leather air rides.
This Volvo has a 61 inch raised roof sleeper. Unless you are taller than 6' 5" you can stand straight up. The bed is 36" by 76" and very comfortable. There are two sets of privacy curtains. One set completely encircles the cab on runners around the side windows and windshield. The entire cab and sleeper are completely closed off when these curtains are drawn, The other set separates the sleeper from the cabin area.
The controls below the storage compartment of the sleeper are for heating or cooling the sleeper separate from the cab. There are two overhead reading lights and an alarm clock.
In the lower right side of picture is the rear view screen. There is a camera mounted on the headache rack to aid in the hitching of the trailer. It also helps when the trailer is unhitched for viewing behind the truck. It is also wired for another camera on the back of the trailer (this camera and cable is included). There is another plug on the rear of the truck bed for this. The screen has the capabilities of handling two camera inputs. It also has A-V inputs. It has suspension dump in the dash so air can be dumped from the rear suspension.
It has a 400 HP 1450 lb/ft of torque M11 Cummins engine with a 10 speed Eaton transmission. It has 498K on it. I have had the engine dynoed and it came through with following results. I verified what would be good for an engine with this amount of mileage on it from Cummins. They stated if it came in with 85% of rated power that it would be good. This engine came in with 92%. If the blowby was in the range of 13 to 16 inches of water that would be considered good. 18 inches indicate an overhaul is needed. This truck had 6; a new engine would be in the 2 to 3 range. The turbo boost was 31 PSI, new is about 32. I have had all the fluids in the engine and filters changed and the radiator flushed. There is a new mattress in the sleeper with a custom built cover (never been used). This rig has all air ride with quick disconnect air for external use.
